In the publication of Vanity Fair from July 2003 the magazine featured her as one of the top teens of the entire year. In 2004 Vega was able to complete two film projects: Sleepover and State's Evidence. Later that year she was a part of the Lifetime TV film Odd Girl Out, as the victim of cyberbullying. She was in a filmed TV movie in 2006 called Walkout. In 2007, she completed her filming Remember the Daze which was only made available to limited theaters. She completed filming Repo! The Genetic Opera was released in 2008. Aram Rappaport composed and directed Helix in Chicago. Filming began the month of March in 2008. Her initial role was in the film Shorts of 2009 by Robert Rodriguez film Shorts, however, because of her being in Australia for filming Broken Hill, she had to be replaced. She was replaced by Kat Dennings. The actress appeared on Broadway in Hairspray in the role of Penny. She played Ruby Gallagher in the ABC Family sitcom Ruby & the Rockits which included Patrick Cassidy and David Cassidy. Vega performed the role of Wick in 2012's film The Devil's Carnival, a film by director Darren Lynn Bousman and screenwriter Terrance Zdunich. They previously collaborated alongside Vega on Repo! The Genetic Opera. 12 years ago, Vega starred throughout 2012 in 2br/1ba, directed by Rob Margolies, a thriller directed by Rob Margolies, with Spencer Grammer and Kathryn Morris. Vega starred also in The Pregnancy Project on Lifetime Channel and completed her animated movie The Clockwork Girl. The Mine, a film filmed by Vega and released in the year 2010, was only shown to a small viewers. Vega played Christina on the show that was animated Unsupervised, and also had role on Royal Pains. Vega was the character in Aerosmith's "Legendary Child" as well as a music video. [13]
